Founded in 1899, Audi need no introduction as a car maker – manufacturing a wide range of quality German-built vehicles, from super-minis to supercars. The company name derives from the founder, August Horch’s surname (meaning listen) which, when translated into Latin, becomes Audi. Since becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen in 1966, and with the introduction of Quattro four-wheel drive and the turbo-charged Audi Coupe in 1980, the company image has changed quite dramatically – whilst the acquisition of Lamborghini in 1998 further enhanced its credentials as a performance car manufacturer, as well as producing premium saloons, hatchbacks and SUV’s.

• High-performance SUV with many talents – the updated Audi Q5 - Sporty, spacious, comfortable and multifunctional – the Audi Q5 has a versatile and successful character. Now the mid-class SUV is even more attractive, efficient and sporty – adding many new solutions in design, infotainment, chassis and engines. The Q5 hybrid quattro, the brand’s first production hybrid model, unites the power of a V6 with the fuel economy of a four cylinder.
• Creativity and Perfection: Innovative materials in the new S models - As a leading brand in automotive styling, Audi highly values its Color & Trim area and the colors and materials that go into its cars. In the new Audi S6 and S7 Sportback, interior designers have come up with another innovation – decorative “aluminum/Beaufort wood” inlays, in which the lightweight metal and wood enter into an elegant alliance.
• Acoustic innovation: e-sound by Audi - Audi’s future e-tron models will cover long distances powered by practically silent electric motors. To ensure that pedestrians in urban settings will hear them, the brand has developed a synthetic solution: Audi e-sound.
• “red dot award” for the Audi A6 - Audi has received the “red dot award: product design 2012” for the outstanding design quality and formal idiom of the Audi A6. The expert jury panel was won over by the premium quality and combination of design and technology of the A6 family, which includes the Audi A6 Sedan, the Audi A6 Avant and the Audi A6 allroad quattro. The model family built around the Audi A6 prevailed in a competition with more than 4.500 designs.
• The new Audi A6 allroad – the Avant for any kind of road - The first two generations of the allroad quattro from the years 2000 and 2006 were winners, and Audi hopes to build on this success with the third generation. Universally talented, the new A6 allroad quattro extends the range of uses for the A6 Avant because when the asphalt ends, it just keeps on driving. Performance has improved and fuel consumption has been reduced by as much as 20 percent compared with the previous model.
• The new Audi A3 – Innovation with style - In 1996, Audi launched the premium compact segment with the A3 – now the third generation of the successful model is ready at the starting line. The new A3, which will debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, is a high-tech car full of innovations in all areas. Versions with hybrid and alternative drive systems such as natural gas and Audi e-gas are currently in development. A version with an exceptionally efficient 1.6 TDI engine will launch on the market in 2012; it consumes just 3.8 liters of diesel/100 km (61.90 US mpg), which is equivalent to 99 g/CO2 (159.33 g/mile).
• New 3D technology at the premiere of the Audi A3 in Geneva - The Audi exhibit at the Geneva Motor Show is a world premiere for two reasons: the new Audi A3 and the unconventional “A3 Dimension” technology that will be used to present it on Tuesday. It offers a three-dimensional video display in an unprecedented quality and size. The 3D film “Where’s Rocky?” – which centers around factory driver Mike Rockenfeller as the protagonist – will be shown.
• Deliveries of the new Audi R8 LMS ultra begin - The first four examples of the new customer sport race car, the Audi R8 LMS ultra, have been delivered ready for the 2012 season. The teams Mamerow and Prosperia uhc speed collected the first two 420 kW (570 hp) GT3 sports cars in Neckarsulm on Friday. Two other vehicles were shipped to Japan at the same time.
