Porsche Mission X Unveiled: All-electric Hypercar

In the realm of automotive surprises, Porsche has once again taken the lead, unveiling an all-electric hypercar in honour of its 75th anniversary.

This remarkable creation, known as Mission X, serves as a continuation of Porsche’s Le Mans campaign while paying homage to the iconic 959, Carrera GT, and 918 Spyder.

Although Mission X is currently presented in concept form, Porsche has already outlined ambitious targets for potential series production. First and foremost, the goal is to craft the swiftest road-legal vehicle to conquer the Nürburgring Nordschleife, surpassing the record-setting time of 6 minutes and 30.70 seconds achieved by the Mercedes-AMG One on the 20.6-kilometer track.

In addition, Porsche aims to achieve an extraordinary power-to-weight ratio of one metric horsepower per kilogram. While the precise target weight remains undisclosed, it’s evident that Porsche’s competitors like the Lotus Evija (1680kg/2000PS) and Rimac Nevera (2300kg/1900PS) have set the bar high. Consequently, we can anticipate an output of at least 1700 brake horsepower, potentially even higher.

It is worth noting that the presence of paddles on the steering wheel, alongside mode buttons, suggests the possibility of driver involvement in transmission control, considering Porsche’s implementation of a two-speed transmission in the Taycan.
