The Fast and Furious Franchise began back in 2001, and who knew back then that 12 years & 10 films later we would be here celebrating the release of Fast X.

The Franchise has engrossed the whole world from its street racing origins to its latest action fuelled adventures. Each film in the Franchise stands apart from one another, yet together they arguably form the best collection of automotive films ever made.

Is it due to the actors, locations, or storylines………Or is it due to the legendary cars that they race on the streets?

To celebrate the release of Fast X let’s look back at the iconic cars that powered each film and what we can expect from the latest and final installment in the fast saga.

1. The Fast and the Furious, 2001: 1994 Toyota Supra IV

The Toyota Supra is the icon of the Fast and Furious Franchise, the OG that started it all. Watching Brian O’Conner race the 1994 Legend down the streets of L. A captured the generation and built the foundations of the 10-film franchise.

3. The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, 2006: 1997 Mazda RX-7 FD

Unleashing nitrous-fuelled Japanese excellence, Han Seoul-Oh’s Mazda RX-7 FD streaks through the streets of Tokyo in a blaze of orange, leaving competitors in its wake. The ultimate drift machine, it was the key to mentoring Sean Boswell and propelling him to the title of the new Drift King!

4. Fast & Furious, 2009: 1970 Dodge Charger R/T

Dom’s Charger is a street racing legend, with a Supercharged V8 and a 9-second quarter-mile record. Despite being destroyed in a Mexican tunnel explosion, the car keeps coming back to life, rebuilt, and ready to roar once again. The Charger embodies the Fast and Furious franchise’s signature mix of high-speed action and heart-pumping excitement.

5. Fast Five, 2011: 2010 Koenigsegg CCXR

The Koenigsegg CCXR, a rare hypercar worth over $2 million with only 4 ever made, makes an appearance in Fast Five. Roman and Tej unknowingly use their share of the Rio heist to buy matching 1000bhp V8-powered CCXRs and declare that they can “shine together” in these high-performance machines.

6. Fast & Furious 6, 2013: 1970 Ford Escort MK I

O’Conner’s MK I Escort is a rally-inspired car that proves its worth in the iconic scene where Roman jumps through the air to avoid a tank and lands safely on its roof. The car’s agility allows O’Conner to fly over traffic and weave through the streets in a thrilling car chase that embodies the spirit of the Fast and Furious franchise.

7. Furious 7, 2015: 2014 Lykan Hypersport

The Lykan Hypersport, owned by a billionaire prince and equipped with God’s Eye, was not only bulletproof but also made an unforgettable appearance in the franchise. Driven through buildings, windows, and even mid-air, it became a true icon of the Fast and Furious world, despite its unfortunate demise.

8. The Fate of the Furious, 2017: 1968 Dodge Ice charger

9. F9, 2021: 1984 Pontiac Fiero

The incredible Pontiac Fiero was designed by the D.K Sean and driven/flown by Roman! Its one-of-a-kind rocket engine takes the Fast saga to a new kind of track! The streets of space! Forget an ice racer, this is the space racer!

10. Fast X, 2023: TBC

The latest and final installment in the Fast Franchise is due to be the best and biggest film in the saga, bringing together all the crew and celebrating the 10 films.

Who would have thought that 12 years ago when Brian and Dom first met on the streets of L.A. That they would have not only built their crew around the world but also driven around it, stole vaults, drove through buildings, jumped off cliffs, and flown into space…..probably Vin Diesel!
