The DB11 succeeds the DB9 as Aston Martin’s flagship V12 GT, taking on cars like the Mercedes-AMG S65 Coupe, Bentley GTC and Ferrari F12. Aston’s DB lineage, named after one-time owner David Brown, stretches right back to 1950 and includes the iconic DB5 of Goldfinger fame. But the DB11 is the first all-new one since 2003. And if you’re wondering what happened to DB10, that was reserved for a special re-bodied V8 Vantage used in 2015’s Bond film, Spectre. Select your experience here

That’s because Audi’s latest models are all characterized by piercing LED headlights and taillights, ornate wheel designs, and angular bodies. Select your experience here
The Audi R8 is a supercar from a dying breed. Welcome to the future; this is the new BMW i8, a hybrid electric two-door 2+2 sports car the likes of which the world hasn’t seen before. Despite the eco-conscious demeanour, the i8 develops 357bhp and 570Nm of torque and can sprint from 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds thanks to its sophisticated four-wheel-drive chassis and lightweight carbon-fibre construction. Those numbers put the BMW very much up against the Porsche 911 and Audi R8. Select your experience here

Eleanor, the 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 from the film Gone in Sixty Seconds starring Nicolas Cage - widely recognised as one of Hollywood's most iconic film cars of the 21st century. With all the cars in the film referred to as female names to hide their identities from the police, Eleanor was described as the main character's 'unicorn' — the one he failed to steal on a number of occasions. A rarity in its own right, just 300 GT500 Shelby Mustangs were ever built. Select your experience here
The Ford Escort Mk1 has proven to be an iconic classic, for its simplicity, neat appearance and excellent performance and economy (more so in the larger-engined cars) meant it became Ford's best-selling car in the UK behind the Cortina. Featuring in the Fast & Furious 6 film, with Paul Walker, this car is even more spectacular, with it's wide-body stance and custom paint job, not to mention the more powerful 2-litre red-top engine. A traditional mid-engined two-seat supercar, it employs technology honed in F1 racing to make it one of the most exciting road cars on sale. While similar in proportion to the 360, the F430 is more angular, the rear end styling borrowed from the Enzo supercar while the distinctive twin nostril treatment at the front is inspired by Ferrari’s 1960s Grand Prix racers. Ferrari may have been founded on a series of V12-powered cars, but some of its most successful models were those fitted with a mid-rear-mounted V8. And so it is with the Ferrari 458 Italia – the name meaning 4.5-litres and eight cylinders, with Italia thrown it at the end in homage to its home country. It was hailed by none other than Jeremy Clarkson as one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever made. Select your experience here

Hardcore 493 bhp GT3 RS represents a new level for the Porsche 911 - faint hearts need not apply. The grip is colossal, and you can, once you get brave, play with the balance - small, carefully measured adjustments only though, please. It takes time to fully appreciate, but like all good cars, it’s one that communicates brilliantly, and leaves you wanting more, makes you want to learn and improve. Doesn’t suffer fools, though.
